Salam Alikom.  Welcome to CISE!

I am honoured and privileged to be the Director at the Canadian International School Egypt.

At CISE, we are focused on building upon each child’s unique talents and strengths by providing a rich and engaging learning environment.  As an Ontario accredited school, we follow the world renowned, rigorous Ontario curriculum.  Our internationally trained teachers use high yield instructional strategies as well as assessment and evaluation practices that one would find in any elementary or secondary school in the province of Ontario. Our teachers are facilitators of knowledge, engaging student learning through the development of critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and entrepreneurship skills

At CISE, we have high academic expectations for all our students.  However, we also believe that placing equal value to students’ physical and emotional needs, leads to greater academic success.  This is achieved not only through the curriculum, but also through our character development initiatives, clubs, after-school activities, and field trips, locally and abroad. Through this integrated approach we strive to develop well-rounded citizens who are prepared for the 21st century and who can adapt to an ever changing world. At CISE we continually develop such skills as respect, responsibility, perseverance, collaboration, empathy and integrity among others.

As an international school located in Egypt we embrace and celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds which providing an environment in which students learn from one another and accept each other’s differences

CISE prides itself in blending the cultures of Canada and Egypt. As a result, CISE offers three programs, English, Immersion French, and Arabic.  All students must take an Arabic language class throughout their years at CISE. Non-native speakers must take Arabic as Foreign Language.  Native Arabic speakers must write the Egyptian National Language Exam.

The time allocation for French instruction is dependent on the grade level and program. Each year students in grade 5 to 12 have the opportunity to write the DELF (Diplome D’études de Langue Française).  It is administrated at CISE by the French Cultural Center.  CISE staff offer DELF preparation support one day per week after school.  By participating in DELF, students receive an internationally recognized French Language Certificate.

Students who graduate from CISE are awarded an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) that is recognized world-wide at top tier Universities and Post-Secondary Institutions.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” (Nelson Mandela) At CISE our students acquire the required skills to be global citizens and to be positive change agents.
